If you would like to understand more about how we can restore your smile by replacing your old amalgam fillings or improving the alignment or shade of your teeth, we have a range of treatments that can create a beautiful new smile
Crowns
A crown is a restoration that fits over the remaining part of your tooth making it resilient and giving it the look of a real tooth. Crowns can be used to restore teeth that have been broken or that have been weakened by decay. A crown may also be the ideal solution if you have a discoloured filling and you would like to improve the appearance of the tooth; or if you have had a root filling you may need a crown to protect what is left of the tooth.
At MNS Dentists we have a number of different crown options available from an all-ceramic or all-porcelain crown to metal and porcelain fused to metal crowns.
Bridges
Bridges are ideal for people only have one or two teeth missing and do not want a denture. Bridges can be made by crowning the teeth on either side of the gap and attaching a false tooth in the middle. They are fixed in the same way as crowns and like crowns there a number of options available from all-ceramic or all-porcelain to metal and porcelain fused to metal bridges.
Bridges can also be constructed to fill gaps without crowning the adjacent teeth. These bridges are less damaging as they are chemically bonded onto sound teeth. You suitability for such bridges can be discussed at your consultation.
Veneers
A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain or composite material placed over a tooth, either to improve the aesthetics of a tooth or to protect the tooth’s surface from damage.
At Ravat & Ray Dental Care our highly skilled dental professionals are delighted to discuss veneers with you as part of your personal treatment plan. Whether the latest no preparation veneers or traditional bonded veneers are best, we have all the options. You can rest assured that, should you make the informed choice to have dental veneers, the results surpass your expectations.
Porcelain Veneers
For many years porcelain veneers have been the most commonly provided type of veneer in the UK. Veneers made from porcelain can be used to change the shade, shape, position or size of teeth and also to close or reduce gaps between teeth. For traditional porcelain veneers it is very common to require some preparation of the underlying tooth to create space to place the veneer.
In certain cases, such as where a tooth is being brought forward into the line of the arch or where a small tooth is being made bigger, no preparation may be required. Traditional porcelain veneers are then constructed in a dental laboratory from precision models of your teeth constructed from impressions taken of your mouth.
